I read this book with a friend of mine, we would read a few chapters at a time and text back and forth with our analysis & personal anecdotes. It was such a perfect story to read this way. I’ve read just about every book Matt Haig has written so far and this ended up being one of my favorites. Idk if that’s because it was necessarily ā€œbetterā€ than his other work, it was just the experience of doing it this way. It was the first book I’ve ever read together with my friend. The amount of parallels to our own lives we found in here, living AS Grace throughout the story, it spawned so many beautiful conversations between us both & I’m really grateful that I got to read this book at this particular moment in my life. Highly recommend! This would be a great Book Club book but even if not that, I say text your best friend & tell them ā€œI’m buying you this & we’re reading it togetherā€ ~ you won’t regret it!

I highlighted sentences and passages throughout the book that I want to read whenever I need them. I loved the variety of places the story could have ended but didn’t. Because I didn’t want it to end.

I haven’t been so deeply invested in a book since I was a little kid. I can’t express how amazing this book is.

My mom discarded The Midnight Library from a book club read - she ā€œdidn’t understand itā€ …and I picked it up. It was the beginning of my love of Matt Haig’s stories. The Life Impossible is a book about being present - noticing all the beauty life offers, even in time so trial and sadness. We forget. This book reminds us. Loved it.

I can’t really say what it was about this book, but I knew right from the beginning I was going to enjoy the book all the way to the end and I was correct . At the very first I thought this might be hard to get into or to keep track of, but it wasn’t . It was wonderful!
  • Slow and boring

Slow and boring and oh, so dumb. I’m embarrassed to have read it and for the author to have written it.
  • What an imaginative romp!

And at some point, we will come to see what is true, won't we? Magic, aliens, all things that we do not get understand but that was true about science in the past, it's true now, and it will always be true. Matt Haig brings these characters to life, and I can only Marvel out how his mind works, as he tries to describe to us what is happening within the indomitable Grace.
