Great book, especially being a free one. Wonderful plot, wonderful imagery, great wording. There is nothing to dislike about this book, the storytelling is beautiful, and the ending is perfect and mind-blowing. Easily recommend this for anyone who likes to read books with large concepts. Awesome read for any age.

I’ve waited 52 years to read this book, it was not what I thought it would be.

Very thought provoking and interesting! Definitely recommend to all. H. G. Wells is a wizard of words! (Note: I’m a middle schooler. The book was a little challenging at parts, but, overall, it made sense. Don’t be scared!)

A rare case where the movie was better than the book.

  • Kind of Disappointing

Very abstract storytelling, narrating a worldview better suited for the 19th century. This a great read, if you’re looking to pass the time.

I have no words palpable to the tongue to describe the sheer greatness of this book. The imagery and diction go beyond my mind and take me into the future. It was almost as if I was the time traveler and felt all his pain, sorrow, and happiness. This was an excellent read.

  • A fun read.

I recently picked up reading again and I cannot stress enough how much this book did to remind me of the power of my imagination. Paired with the beautifully written words in this book, I delved deep into each page. I finished the book, and to say I was in the shoes of the time traveler is a huge understatement. I felt like I had gone on the entire trip myself!

  • Loved it. 10/10
