Disappointing sequel

It seems to me that this book wasn't written to continue a great story, but to line the pockets of the author. I can't help but feel as if I've been the victim of a bait-and-switch scheme. The first book was great; the sequel is mediocre at best. The story dragged, leading the reader to an all-too-obvious showdown that was as predictable as it was was formulaic. You got me this time, but I won't be tricked into reading the third. I can already guess how it ends.
