Worst in series. Loved most of the others. Kept waiting for this one to start.

My least favorite, and I’ve read them all. Heavy emphasis on God as creator beyond the spirituality that is woven throughout his stories. The main character, Cork, has lost his power and confidence and makes decisions I wouldn’t have expected. Story is like reading an old man’s musings before he dies. Ends on a hopeful note, but the old Cork is gone.

An absolutely spectacular read. It speaks to the world we live in today with a spiritual and literary force that resonates. This may be William Kent Krueger‘s best book.
