Just a bit wordy but still read it in a day! Once I start I can4 put it down!

Someone wrote a review that they felt Dallas wasn’t emotionally invested and I agree. Normally there would have been a nice touch on the BBQ, everyone relaxing in the way chosen families do but it was missing here. And the crimes were heinous so I think that balance would have helped better. I read most of her books and stories multiple times but not this one. Once is enough. Makes me a bit sad.

The ending of this book is the best part. I miss the angst and desperate connection of Eve making and creating a family. That part is an afterthought now. Before, in previous books it made the case she was solving much more…everything. They connected and made her sacrifices for the job more emotional. Turning her into a cop that solves murders isn’t as interesting when you’ve read the entire series. Bring back the real Eve Dallas, not this alter-persona . No, I don’t mean revisit her trauma. I mean bring back the one that makes you feel what she’s feeling, makes you wish for a Roarke and Peabody and all the family she created. Bring back the Eve that had to feel a case to solve it, not just connect the dots and follow the bread crumbs. The earlier books in the series are books I would read again and again. This one, not even once more.

I have loved this series for years and read every book, some more than once. They are becoming predictable and boring.

I am one of many fans of the “In Death” series. Each book becomes more interesting and expands on the main characters. Rourke and Eve, the couple who survived and rose above the storm life threw at them. Can’t wait fore the next book. Truth prevails.

Loved how every bit of evidence brought them closer to the killer.

This was by far one of the best books. I really did enjoy the ending.
