King must get paid by the page. This could have easily been a couple of hundred pages shorter. The story went on and on without all that much suspense. The characters were mostly pretty flat. Not a lot to like here. For me this was a clear miss.

The beginning got me hooked but it got a bit slow and repetitive in the middle. The last few chapters redeemed it and brought everything together.

Dark but great read

You can never go wrong with Stephen King! He’s the best!

The first third of the book was so repetitive I almost quit. I skipped to halfway through and started again. The last half is great but the first half needs to be edited.

This is an intriguing book. Now I’m going to read Mr. Mercedes next because of that character, Holly Gilney.

I had a paperback copy of this book when I first read it and I have never enjoyed a book more than this one. Stephen King is honestly an amazing author and the pure horror of this masterpiece and the detail and just overall feel of the storyline is bone chillingly amazing. The character development is incredible and the inclusion of old folklore is just honestly incredible. I definitely recommend this book for a read, especially if you’re a horror fan.
