Description

Rachel Taylor is an advertising executive who wants a baby without the complications of a husband. Jesse Jordan is just the cowboy to complicate Rachel’s neatly laid plans.

Feeling her biological alarm clock ticking, Rachel single-mindedly embarks on a search for a suitable sperm donor.  She begins her search by engaging the services of Date-Your-Mate dating service. Yet, even with the less exacting scrutiny of her best friend, Genie, she doesn’t find that certain man to spark her interest enough to be willing to procreate with him. Her next move is to place an ad in a singles column, arranging to meet each of the candidates in the neutral zone of a bar. But after a discouraging round of interviews with her hopefuls, and consuming a few too many drinks, she declares that the next man who walks through the door will be the father of her child.
In walks Jesse, the golden-haired, billionaire cowboy, whose charm and good looks automatically inspire fairy tale dreams.  Rachel’s only objection is that he is one of her clients at her advertising agency and she refuses to mix business with her personal life. He’s also one of Texas’s most eligible bachelors, who has a reputation for playing fast and loose with his women. The fastidious Rachel refuses to consider him as a possible donor.

Jesse isn’t nearly the bad boy the tabloids paint him to be. One look into Rachel’s soft brown eyes, and he finds a powerful attraction to the starchy ad executive. Her apparent disinterest only increases the challenge of the chase.

Jesse, a member of a secret billionaires club, is tired of women throwing themselves at him. They want him for his money and ranch, not him. When he finally finds a woman he's falling for, she won't have anything to do with him. So Jesse embarks on a mission to get Rachel to give him a chance. Rachel, a successful advertising business owner, has a plan. She is in search of a "baby daddy", without the complications of a relationship. Rachel doesn't have time for, nor does she "believe" in true love. Her own parents didn't openly express their feelings or show their love, making Rachel think their relationship was more one of conveinience. Rachel is a workaholic with a ticking biological clock. She enlists her best friend's help to "interview" potential donors. Her quirky and HILLARIOUS encounters with potential donors is a bust, so she decides to give up on her original plan, especially after she kissed Jesse. Rachel is extremely attracted to Jesse, but she has a strict policy of not dating people who are her clients. Jesse enlists Rachel's best friend to help him convince Rachel he's worth the risk. Everything is going according to plan, until Jesse sees Rachel's notes detailing her plan... I absolutely LOVED this novel!!! I loved the sexual tension between Jesse and Rachel. I liked that Rachel was willing to learn and participate in events, activities that were important to Jesse. I enjoyed Jesse's Southern Charm and his ability to tear down Rachel's walls enough so that she could truly live life. I liked the surprise ending as well! I can't wait to catch up on the first two novels in the series. I read a gifted copy and all opinions expressed are my own.

Who's Your Daddy is the third book in the Texas Billionaires Club series but you don't need to have read the other books to enjoy this one; each of them stands alone. I love these two author's books. While individually they usually write a very different type of romance, together they write wonderful romantic comedy stories and Who's Your Daddy is no exception. Rachel desperately wants a baby but she doesn't have time for a relationship so she sets out to find a suitable candidate to be the father. She doesn't want to go to a sperm bank: "Just the thought of having some mystery man’s sperm injected into my uterus gives me the creeps.' All of the candidates who seem suitable on paper turn out to be absolutely wrong. The only man with serious potential, however, is a client and she won't mix business with pleasure. Jesse has been attracted to Rachel from their first meeting but he doesn't know that it's going to be so difficult to get her to break her own rule. This book had several laugh-out-loud moments. One of Rachel's candidates called himself an "animal reconstructive engineer." Another candidate's mother said to her son: "And what pretty babies you'd make, huh? Only I don't know how Rachel could feed them with those little boobies." When Rachel finally comes around to accepting her attraction to Jesse of course something has to happen to mess things up. Never fear, though, these two authors know how to fix everything up and deliver a wonderful HEA (albeit with a little help from Jesse's fellow Texas Billionaires Club members and Rachel's friend Genie). I need to remind myself to read more romantic comedy – but wait! – book 4 in this series is coming in June and I won't dare miss it. An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the authors.
